Managing Director – China Mr Chan Siu Hung meets with Chief Economist Guo Zhi of National Energy Administration

On 20 August 2019, Managing Director – China of CLP Holdings Limited Mr Chan Siu Hung met with Mr Guo Zhi, Chief Economist of National Energy Administration.

According to Mr Chan, Hong Kong people and Hong Kong companies were the witnesses, participants, beneficiaries and contributors to China’s reform and opening-up; 2019 represented the 40th anniversary of CLP’s operation in the mainland power market, and CLP had been an active player in the power value chain of mainland China. He said CLP hopes to closely follow China’s power system reform and get a full picture of China’s policies and strategies by listening to the interpretation from National Energy Administration leaders and communicating with the National Energy Administration departments.

Chief Economist Guo expounded on topics including the Several Opinions on Further Deepening the Power System Reform (ZhongFa [2015] No.9), ancillary services, grid parity and subsidies, and green certificate. He also invited CLP to make regular communication with the National Energy Administration and extensively promote its excellent experience.
